On November 26, Light Without Borders (Marina Martín and Luz Carmona) were honored to speak at the Complutense University of Madrid, Faculty of Optics and Optometry. They shared moving stories from their work supporting refugees in Greece, raising awareness among students and professors about the hardships in refugee camps.
With deep gratitude, we thank Gema Bartolomé, Marisa Galdón (representing the College of Opticians), and Professors Antona and Ana María Barrio for their warm reception and support in fostering this collaboration.
This event also introduced our volunteer program for optometrists and ophthalmologists to join future expeditions. We are also proud to announce a recently established cooperation agreement with the Complutense University of Madrid, which will strengthen our shared mission to provide essential eye care to the most vulnerable.
It’s inspiring to see the potential of these future professionals to bring light to those most in need. Together, their expertise and compassion will be the vision of hope for so many.
With love and light.
