Luz Carmona

Luz Carmona has dedicated her work to helping refugees and disadvantaged people as an integral part of her life and travels. She started projects in Southeast Asia and South America distributing eyeglasses. Luz saw the extraordinary transformation that happens when people's sight is restored. Luz came to Greece in 2016 to help as an independent volunteer, opening the Light Without Borders clinic in Moria camp in February 2018 .Since November 2022 she leads mobile clinic expeditions in the camps of southern and northern Greece. The relevance of the project and Luz's dedication and determination to do good has facilitated partnerships with many other NGOs, and has enthused optometrists, ophthalmologists and many others to volunteer their services. Luz is also a flower therapist, an expert in the development and use of flower essences, who supports people on an emotional level.
